Adobong Sitaw – String Beans Cooked With Vinegar And Soy Sauce
Adobong sitaw, just like any other typical adobo dish (chicken adobo for example), is cooked with reasonable amount of soy sauce and vinegar tossed with few more spices and ingredients. It is quite tasty and flavorful that goes along well with your favorite fried dish (fish or chicken).
Here is a complete, basic and easy to follow ingredients along with the instruction on how to cook adobong sitaw Filipino dish.
* 2 cups of sitaw or string beans (cut in 2″ lengths)
* 1 cup ground pork (you can substitute it with chicken or shrimp)
* 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
* 3 Tbsp. vinegar
* 1/4 cup water
* 1 medium sized onion (sliced)
* 1 Tbsp. garlic (crushed)
* Salt and pepper to taste
* Cooking oil
How To Cook Adobong Sitaw:
1). In a skillet, heat appropriate amount of cooking oil. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
2). Add the ground pork (chicken or shrimp) then add salt and pepper.Continue sauteing until meat starts to render fat. Adjust taste if necessary.
3). Add string beans. Simmer until half cooked.
4). Add water, vinegar, and soy sauce. Continue cooking until string beans are cooked.
Serve Adobong Sitaw along with your favorite fish (grilled or fried) with hot steamed rice. Enjoy!
RECIPE TIP: To add a creamy texture, you can use coconut milk along with the above recipe. It will be then called Adobong Sitaw Sa Gata.
