Ginataang Mais or Sweet Corn with Coconut Milk is one of a kind Filipino dessert recipe that is usually served as a snack or merienda. Ginataang Mais, as the name of the food and recipe implies it, mainly consists of a combination of corn (mais) and coconut milk (gata).

Cassava Cake Recipe By Inadvertently Domesticated

Now back to our cassava cake recipe. Here is the complete instruction and recipe.

Cassava Cake Recipe Ingredients:

* 2 packs grated cassava (about 2 lbs total weight)
* 1 1/2 cup coconut milk
* 3/4  evaporated milk
* 2 pieces raw egg
* ¼ cup butter, melted
* 6 tbsp mozzarella cheese, grated
* ½ cup condensed milk
* 14 tbsp sugar

For the topping:

* 1 1/2 cup coconut milk
* 2 tbsp sugar
* ½ cup condensed milk
* 2 tbsp flour
* 2 tbsp mozzarella cheese, grated
* egg white of 1 piece of egg

Cassava Cake Recipe Baking Instruction And Preparation:

1). In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated cassava, butter, condensed milk, evaporated milk, cheese, sugar, and eggs. Mix this thoroughly. Add the coconut milk and mix again.

2). Pre-heat the oven at 350 degrees F. Grease the baking tray and pour the batter in it. Bake the batter for about 1 hour.

3). For the topping, combine the sugar and flour in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix this as the sugar melts. Once the sugar has melted, add the condensed milk and continue mixing. Add the cheese, still with constant stirring. Add the coconut milk and stir for 10 minutes.

4). Pour the topping over the baked cassava cake and spread evenly. Broil for approximately 5 minutes when the topping has settled.

5). Take the cake out and glaze the topping with the egg white using a basting brush. Continue to broil until the color of the topping turns light brown.

This is ready to be served immediately. Garnish with grated cheese.

In this post, we will be featuring a recipe of an online and twitter buddy of mine; Jackie Go. Jackie is a well known individual in the modeling and TV advertising community. The most memorable TV advertisement of her, in my opinion, are the ones from McDonalds. Remember this line? Paburger ka naman! Burger Burger Burger. I am sure you do! Mango Float Ingredients:


All you need are 5 ingredients:
* Condensed milk
* Crushed Graham crackers
* Graham crackers
* All purpose cream
* Ripe mangoes

How To Make Mango Float (Instructions):

1). Mix the all purpose cream together with the condense milk.


2).Layering. 1st layer the graham crackers in your preferred container (a rectangle would be your best bet since it’s the shape of the cracker) , then pour in just the right amount of your creamy mixture, then top it off with sliced mangoes. Do this repetitively until it’s filled to the brim.



3).  Sprinkle crushed grahams on the last layer and cover it up  w/a cling wrap, then let it chill.

Halo Halo Recipe With Pictures

Halo-Halo is a famous Filipino dessert and refreshment as well. Halo halo is quite a best selling Filipino food/dessert/refreshment during the summer season. Halo halo recipe is a mixture of sweetened preserved fruits, evaporated milk and crushed ice top with either ice cream, leche flan or ube.

Halo Halo is usually served in tall, clear  glasses (but nowadays, plastic cups are being used) that show its colorful preserved fruit contents or mixtures.

- Sweetened red beans

Masapan de Buco

Masapan de Buko is a famous Filipino or Philippine dessert. It can be found or can be seen mostly at Filipino parties or occasions. Below is a simple recipe for Mazapan de Buko. The recipe makes 2 dozen servings.

Masapan de Buco Recipe Ingredients:

* 2 cups grated buko
* 1/2 tsp vanilla
* 1 (300 ml) can condensed milk
* 2 tbsps butter
* 4 egg yolks
* Evaporated milk for brushing
* 1 tbsp cornstarch
* glazed fruit

How To Make Masapan de Buko:

1). In saucepan, combine the buko and vanilla; cook over low heat15 minutes or until thick. Stir constantly.

2). Beat the egg yolk along with butter and condensed milk in a bowl and pour in the buko and vanilla mixture.

3). Continue cooking and stirring over low heat until mixture separates from sides of pan.

4). Remove from heat and stir in butter. Pour into muffin pan lined with 1-1/2 inches paper cups.

5). Brush top with evaporated milk and garnish with diced glazed fruit.

6). Bake at 350°F 15 minutes until golden brown.

Buko Salad

Buko Salad is a Filipino dessert usually served after lunch or dinner. Buko salad dessert recipe is usually served out of a young green coconut shell. Buko salad can go along with other fruits such as mango, banana, kiwi fruit and dragon fruit.

The mixture of condensed milk and cream makes this recipe taste even better.

Buko Salad Recipe Ingredients:

* 3 young whole coconuts, water removed, flesh scraped
* 1 big can fruit cocktail, drained
* 1 can pineapple cubes, drained
* 1 cup nata de coco, drained
* 1 cup mabong (palm/attap seeds)
* 3 apples, peeled and cubed
* 1/2 cup jackfruit, diced
* 1 cup condensed milk
* 1 cup whipping cream

How To Make Buko Salad:

1). Cut the young coconut flesh into strips.

2). In a mixing bowl, combine all the fruit salad ingredients, including the coconut.

3). Stir together the condensed milk and whipped cream, and add this to the fruit salad. Mix well.

4). Chill in the refrigerator for several hours.

Best consumed at its cold state or after pulling out of the refrigerator.

Champorado

Champorado (Cham-Poh-Ra-Doh) is a rice porridge flavored with chocolate, sweetened with sugar and finished with evaporated milk. It is also called Rice Chocolate Pudding or Rice Chocolate Porridge.

Champorado Recipe Ingredients:

* 1 cup sweet sticky rice (white glutinous rice)
* 6-8 cups water (more or less depending on your preferred consistency)
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
* evaporated milk (optional)


Champorado Recipe Cooking Instructions - How To Make Champorado:

1). Mix all ingredients together (except milk) in a large pan. Place a dry and clean cover.

2). Put on high heat until boiling for 3 minutes. Mix well.

3). Put on low heat for 30-40 minutes (still covered). Mix well to prevent sticking.

4). Serve hot with evaporated milk on top.

Champorado is usually served for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Best served with deep-fried salted fish (tuyo) on top.

Sapin Sapin Filipino Dessert


Sapin-sapin is a layered glutinous rice and coconut dessert in Filipino cuisine. It is made from rice flour, coconut milk, sugar, water, and coloring with coconut flakes sprinkled on top. Sapin-sapin means "layers" and the dessert is recognizable for its layers, each colored separately.

Sapin Sapin recipe is made from rice flour or rice that has been soaked overnight then crushed into a paste, sometimes yams or yam flour, coconut milk and sugar.

Each layer is tinted (the bottom one a deep ube-like purple, the middle a golden yolk yellow,the top one white), and steamed before the next layer is added.
