The usual monggo dish we use to eat is the ginissang munggo. Although it’s really one of Pinoy’s favorite, sometimes, we get bored and tired of eating it. It seems like we wanted a different monggo dish.
Good thing I stumbled upon this recipe from Del Monte. This recipe is quite new to me although for sure, many of you already know how to cook this. This gave me a brand new look in terms of cooking munggo for my family.
So if you wanted to try something new out of your beloved Monggo, here’s a perfect recipe for you.
* ⅓ cup green monggo (dried)
* 1 cup (100 grams) tagunton (fresh)
* 1 cup malunggay leaves
* ½ cup all-purpose flour
* 1 pc (medium) Onion (chopped)
* 3 pc eggs (beaten)
* 1 pouch (115 grams) Del Monte Original Style Tomato Sauce
How To Cook Tortang Monggo:
1). Simmer monggo in covered pan with 1 cup water for 30 minutes. Combine un-drained monggo with remaining ingredients. Season with ⅔ tsp iodized fine salt and ½ tsp pepper. Mix thoroughly.
2). Put every 2 tbsp of mixture in hot oil. Flatten and cook until golden brown on both sides . Serve with DEL MONTE Ketchup or DEL MONTE Vinegar.
